Do you agree with the new Morehouse Dress Code?

Young men of Morehouse, pull up your pants, remove your do-rags and remove your shades and hats when you enter a building. Thanks to a new policy on the campus of Morehouse College, they are no longer permissible. The new policy is an effort to “get back to the legacy” of Morehouse leaders, said Dr. William Bynum, vice president of the Office of Student Services.
“We expect our young men to be Renaissance men,” said Bynum. “When people go about campus we want them to represent the college in an appropriate manner.”
The policy details 11 expectations of students, including:
* no caps, do-rags and/or hoods in classrooms, the cafeteria, or other indoor venues
* no sun glasses worn in class or at formal programs
* no jeans at major programs, as well as no sagging pants on campus
* no clothing with derogatory or lewd messages either in words or pictures
* no wearing of clothing usually worn by women (dresses, tops, tunics, purses, pumps, etc.) on the Morehouse campus or at college-sponsored events.
Students that violate the new rules risk academic suspension.
Bynum said most students are supportive of the policy.
Cameron Thomas-Shah, the student government co-chief of staff, is one of them. While working as a resident’s assistant (RA) he said he noticed freshmen dressed in a way that was unflattering to Morehouse.
“The image of a strong black man needs to be upheld,” he said. “And if anyone sees this policy as something that is restrictive then maybe Morehouse is not the place for you.”
Daniel Edwards, co-president of Safe Space, a gay straight alliance student campus organization said he has heard from students that are for and against the policy, but he believes it is discriminatory.
It is the restriction to women’s clothing that has many students up in arms.
“Some believe that this restriction is what the entire policy is correlated around,” added Edwards. “It is all an issue of perception and what manner of image you want to prescribe to.”
But the new policy is not meant to be discriminatory, said Bynum.
“This is necessary, this is needed according to the students,” he said. “We know the challenges that young African-American men face. We know that how a student dresses has nothing to do with what is in their head, but first impressions mean everything.”
Morehouse is not the only college to enforce a dress policy.
Hampton University also has a dress code, including within its business school where students with braids or dreadlocks are encouraged to cut their hair. And Bennett College, in Greensboro, N.C., has enforced a policy similar to Morehouse’s.

UPDATE: Necole Bitchie STRIKES Back at SAndra Rose Malicious Allegations

Blogger Necole Bitchie took to her blog site and has striked back against Sandra Rose malicious allegations. Per Necole, "I said I would never use my blog to entertain the foolishness of that other blogger however I have had enough with her antics. So let me catch my readers up to speed, Yesterday, Ms. Rose posted an email on her website that she said I wrote back in April to an industry executive. In the email she posted I said that r&b singer Trey Songz was a Nobody. It’s no secret I am cool with Trey Songz as I met him back in 2005 when I was working at FM 98 WJLB in detroit. As alot of artists and people that I am cool with. I didn’t recall writing the email so I searched my email inbox and low and behold, I found the email chain which was from a guy (will omit name for now) who was venting about comments left on his site, particularly that people accused him of being jealous of Trey Songz. I questioned why people would think that (not knowing he had posted unfavorable things about him in the past) but of course Sandra put her spin on it to say that I wrote he was a nobody. I called the guy and told him that I was going to post the email chain on my site to prove that she is a liar and he says “YOU DON”T WANT TO DO THAT” and pleaded with me not to as he didn’t want his name out there or to be involved with this. He told me he’d call her on 3-way to prove to me that he did not send her the email and that she’s so delusional that she somehow hacked into his account and pulled it off his server. At this point, I didn’t know what to believe because it sound far fetched. How crazy can you be to go through those extremes and do something like that. Is that even legal?? Peep the audio here
Either way, after he hung up I instructed him to call her back so that I could ask her what exactly she had against me. I’ve never met this woman in my life. The only thing I know about her is what her associates have told me about her. I’ve been told that she has inquired about where I live. How big my house is. What car I drive and any additional information she could receive on me throughout this year. I did cut off a photographer last year because I was told that he was giving her all the information she’d want on me. I changed my numbers and she even wrote a blind item two days later on her site about me changing my number. Someone asked me “do you drive a ” and I said “Yes, how do you know” and they said “OMG Necole! because she told me you did. She even went out shopping for a car like it” They forwarded me an email from her that had the photo of the car in it to prove it. At this point I became very upset and emotional because I found this to be incredibly creepy. I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life with anyone. Especially a person I’ve never ever met before. I’ve heard the story that Beyonce had a restraining out against her but I never believed it. I thought it was fabricated. Why is a blogger who blogs about celebrities so concerned with me…another blogger?
I said these exact words to her associate:
“It hurts me that she is going through these extremes and have never met me. TWO YEARS ago I didn’t have a pot to piss in. I had nothing. No money in my bank account. No job. Nothing and I made something out of nothing. For some one to be envious of that saddens me because she’s looking at me from the outside looking in and believes I have the world. That I’ve had it easy.”
I went on to say
“some people tell me she is a 47 year old woman that lives with her mom. I can’t say anything about that because atleast she has her mother. Take away the blogs. Take away the material things that she thinks I’ve acquired. Take away the money and it’s nothing when you don’t have loved ones to share it with. I’ve lost mine”.
That is the conversation I had with this person. What he may have went back and told her is another story. She also states that I thought that the altered email she posted on Trey Songz would ruin my relationships with industry executives. The truth is a person called and asked me was that message sent to an Atlantic or Def Jam executive and I forwarded them the original emails to prove that she was a liar.
I didn’t call around town asking for her number as she stated on twitter last night. I was freely giving the number because that person felt as though we should talk. I called and she didn’t answer because she’s a coward. She would never step to me in person or anyone. She’s good at what she does. Hiding behind a computer. I’m told that you’ll never see her at an Atlanta event because she’s scared to come out of her house. I was also sent videos and photos of Sandra with her stripper lover or whatever, but at the end of the day…what am I going to do with that? What is that going to prove?
Truth be told, outside of my birthday party, she has posted more photos of me on her site than I have on my own site. Why?? I’m not a celebrity. I’m a nobody! so she says. She was the first blogger to ever post pictures of me and continued to do so every chance she got. I don’t know if it was some sick game to her but I flipped the script when I put my own images in my website header. She then went on her tirades throughout the year accusing me of having “Self Hate” issues (ironic much), alluding to me being a substance abuse user, calling me an industry whore and other defamatory things. I never snapped back. She’s slandered me all year and I’ve done nothing. As she continued to post on me, the site numbers continued to increase and my popularity grew. Thank you Sandra! Shall i send a care package for the free promotion?
Again, I don’t know what her beef is with me. On the phone call audio she can be heard saying “This is between Me, Her and Trey”. What does her beef with me have to do with Trey and what does her beef with Trey have to do with me? So many questions & Not enough answers.
All I’ve done all year is attempt to be the best I can be. Work hard and finally accomplish something that would have made my parents proud. If that’s a crime than honey, I’m guilty as charged
…but I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that I AM TIRED!
I’ve said it before and I will say it again: “Some people fight senseless battles with people when they should be fighting the battle within themselves”. I hope she seeks out guidance and is able to find happiness and live a more fulfilling life. It is then that she would be able to let me continue to live mine..

She even gave an interview with how she talked about how Keyshia helped her soo much once she got out of jail and owe a lot to Keyshia, she even broke down and cried a lil bit, aww!!! Apparently, Alex was screaming at folks and happened to make the horrible mistake of screaming at Puff?? What, are you kidding me...did this dude know who he was talking to?? As you know, Puff did not allow that and had to snatch Alex up by his collar for just a second and remind him to lower his motherf**king voice!!!!!

Sandra Rose vs. Necole Bitchie

So...the internet/twitter world has been buzzing with a beef brewing between bloggers Sandra Rose and Necole Bitchie. According to Sandra, Necole sent a personal email to one of Sandra's personal friend throwing Trey Songz (Necole's alleged lover) under the bus claiming he is a nobody and she gets paid to pretend to be in a relationship with Trey to cover-up an alleged gay lifestyle!!! (WOW...for the record, we DO NOT believe Trey Songz is GAY). After yesterdays post on Sandra's site, Necole Bitchie took to her twitter to sort of defend herself against these malicious allegations claiming them to be false. Below is what Sandra Rose had to say in defense of, as she claims, Necole's lies:

"Yesterday I wrote a post about struggling R&B singer Trey Song and I decided to throw in an email that someone forwarded to me earlier this year. That someone wanted me to put blogger Necole Bitchie on blast because they were surprised to see that Necole was carrying on a fake affair with Trey since she supposedly didn’t like him.
That someone thought Necole was being paid to write favorable posts about Trey and other Atlantic Records’ artists — sort of like Payola for blogging. They knew that I was the perfect one to put her on blast. But at the time, I declined to do so.
After I published the email yesterday, it exposed a side of Necole that she didn’t want people to see. She thought that side of her was well-hidden along with her other secrets.
Necole couldn’t deny writing the email since I am not the only one with a copy. That email was forwarded to others within the industry as proof of what a hypocrite she is. As a result, she panicked.
She called people in Atlanta, screaming and crying on the phone like she was losing it, telling them that I “added words” to her email. She begged them to ask me to pull the post down and she asked them for my number.
Why go through all of that drama if she thought I altered her email?
Why not just call her attorney and let him handle it? If Necole altered an email of mine, I wouldn’t call around pestering her friends, crying and boo hooing on the phone. I would call my Harvard-educated attorney and let her handle it.
She also told a friend that she spoke with Trey Song yesterday and that he believed her line that she didn’t write that email. I would expect his slow azz to believe that. But the email is real, and it isn’t going away. So if Necole wants to prove the authenticity of the email once and for all, she can have her attorney call my attorney.

Necole spent a good deal of her day yesterday calling and texting people she thought I was close to. She played the victim role, telling them that she has no friends in Atlanta and how people in Atlanta don’t like her and are always hating on her because of her blog.
It’s not the blog, boo, it’s you. You have a reputation of being a two-faced liar. You say you don’t like bloggers Gyant or Freddy O and you cut them off, but the next time you see them you are grinning in their faces. That’s what two-faced bitches do.
When you talk about people behind their backs, the people you are talking TO will eventually cut you off because they know it’s just a matter of time before you start talking about THEM also. So don’t blame your problems on your blog, blame your problems on your own immaturity and lack of self-respect.
Yesterday morning, Necole called a former friend of mine, Doctor Drew of DrewReports.com, whom she originally sent that email to, which means he has the original email saved on his hard drive.
She poured her heart out to Dr. Drew, telling him that Atlantic Records was about to cut her off because of that email. She cried and said that I still have my mom and she lost her mom and now she has nobody and “no pot to piss in.”
Drew called me and after exchanging words, he ended our friendship because he thought I threw him under the bus by publishing the email Necole sent to him.
When she couldn’t reach me, Necole took to her Twitter page yesterday and wrote a series of tweets indicating that I was trying to live “vicariously” through her, lol! Why would I want to live “vicariously” through an ex-stripper groupie blogger who wears thirsty dime store weaves? She also tweeted that I was “obsessed” with her. Really? If that’s the case, why did I ignore her multiple phone calls yesterday?
She also tweeted that I bought a new Mercedes Benz because she had one. No sweetie, people buy a Mercedes when they come up as a way of rewarding themselves for their hard work. It has nothing to do with you, although you would like to think it’s about you. I guess anyone you know who buys a Mercedes is living vicariously through you? Get over yourself, trick. "

Suspect DENIED Bond in Killing of Spelman Student

A judge today denied bond for the suspect in the slaying of a Spelman College sophomore last month. During a hearing that lasted less than a minute, Magistrate Judge Sylvia McCoy ordered Devonni Manuel Benton to appear at a hearing Oct. 21 in Fulton Superior Court. McCoy read the charges against Benton: Murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Devonni Manuel Benton, a 21-year-old student at the ITT Technical Institute, was arrested in connection with killing of Jasmine Lynn on the Spelman campus. Benton, 21, was arrested around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at ITT Technical Institute, where he is a student, Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows said.
Benton is accused of firing the shot that killed Jasmine Lynn in the early morning hours of Sept. 3.
After Wednesday's hearing, Benton's attorney and family members insisted that he is innocent.
"We can't wait to see the day that a jury says, ‘we find the defendant not guilty,'" attorney Jackie Patterson said.
Patterson said that while his client was at the scene of the shooting, he "did not, at any time," have a gun.

Papers--Does Usher REALLY want a Divorce??

According to Radaronline.com, soon-to-be divorced Tameka Foster is telling friends that Usher refuses to sign the divorce papers. Why would he do that?
I think the public is getting very wary of these publicity stunts — if in fact that’s what this is. We know that Usher has moved on with his life because our NY sources tell us that he and lady love Grace Miguel are practically inseparable.
But he does have an album coming out and judging from that first single released yesterday, it needs all the promo it can get.
Usher was busy singing about “Papers” this week, but when it came to signing his own divorce papers, he isn’t ready to let his boo go just yet.
Usher is reportedly delaying the divorce process by not singing off on the papers.
“Tameka thinks that it’s ironic that Papers is his comeback single when she just wants him to sign the paperwork and finalize the divorce,” the source told Radaronline.
“The terms and conditions have been agreed on for around a month but he keeps stalling on them and she’s the one that wants to move on with her life.”
The couple has reportedly been separated for over a year now, so why the delay in the divorce? Is Usher having a change of heart? Stay tuned to find out more!

Shyne, real name Jamal Barrow, was sentenced to 10 years in prison following a nightclub shooting involving music mogul Sean Combs and singer/actress Jennifer Lopez. Sean Combs narrowly missed going to prison on the same gun charges and Barrow ended up taking the fall.

Tyler Perry Molested as a CHILD

Tyler Perry recently admitted to being molested by an older woman when he was younger, along with being abused by family. He recently wrote an open letter to his fans and discussed how he was abused and molested by an older woman as a child:
I couldn’t have been more than 10 years old when I went over to play with her son and Matchbox cars. She opened the door in skimpy lingerie. There was a man sitting on the couch, smoking. She told me that her son was in the bedroom. I was there playing with him about 20 minutes when I heard the man arguing with her. He said he was leaving and slammed the door. She came into the bedroom and told me that I had to go home. She told her son to take a bath and she locked him in the bathroom. I was at the front door trying to get out, when she came in and laid on the sofa and asked me if I wanted the key. I told her I had to go home as it was getting dark. She put the key inside of herself and told me to come get it, pulling me on top of her.
Tyler says his upcoming film “Precious” has given him the courage to come out with things in his past that have haunted him for years. I wonder if him being molested as a child has anything to do with the gay rumors that swirls Tyler??

RIP AJ- Kandi's Fiance Killed Last Night

As you may or may not have heard by now, A.J Jewell (ex-fiance of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss) was killed last night during a fight in Atlanta. According to police, A.J recieved a severe blow to the head during a brawl that took place in the parking lot of the popular strip club The Body Tap. Despite earlier reports compiled from twitter, no knives were involved. A.J was transported to Piedmont Hospital were he was later pronounced dead.
Kandi posted to her twitter account early this morning "I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their prayers. I gotta get up and go to my uncle’s funeral. I could never in a million years imagine this happening. Please pray for AJ’s children. That’s who I’m the most concerned for. I’m just in one of those moods where I don’t wannna talk. I don’t wanna be held and told it’s gonna be okay. I just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone."
